The history of district 3110 is seventy years old. In this region Rotary Club of Agra was the first club charted in 1939. In 1943-44 Rtn Banarsi Das, in 1949-50 Rtn Raj Nath Kunjru and in 1955-56 Rtn Kamta Prasad were the District Governors from Agra. In 1957-58 Rotary Districts in India were renumbered and our region was included in RI D 310. In 1970-71 six RI District in India were bifurcated into the twelve RI Districts. Our region belonged to RI District 311. In 1991-92 this district was redesignated as RI District 3110. Presently RI D 3110 includes Agra, Aligarh, Barely, Jhansi, Kanpur and Garhwal Commissionaires, Having 29 revenue Districts of Utter Pradesh and Uttarakhand State. Now 3000 Rotarians in 103 Rotary Clubs of RI D 3110 are serving to the community.
The Tourist Places of Intrest in District 3110The city of AGRA is world famous for Taj Mahal the symbol of love. Red Fort, Sikandra, Itmad-ud-daulah and other historical Monuments are also situated at Agra. Besides these historical places Agra is known for leather goods & marble handicrafts. Near Agra there is another historical place Fatehpur Sikri.
Aligarh is famous for Aligarh Muslim University, one of the biggest residential University of Asia. Aligarh is also famous for manufacturing & export of Locks and Brass Hardware.
Kanpur is largest industrial town of Uttar Pradesh known for leather goods, footwear and plastic goods.
Mathura is a birth place of Lord Krishna. Vrindavan a city of Temples having spiritual and religious importance.
Jhansi the city of Queen Laxmi Bai having historical value of Jhansi Fort.
Firozabad is famous for Glass Bangles, Glass kitchen wares and beautiful Light shades and Glass items of interior decoration.
Bareilly is famous for embroidery industry.
In the state of Uttrakhand a part of R. I. District 3110 is also having world fame hill station Nanital situated in Himalayan mountain range. Near Nainital there is famous Tiger Reserve known as Jim Corbett Park.
Hathras is an old industrial town known for cotton carpets and metal handicrafts. Manglayatan, the famous Jain temple is also situated near Hathras.
